Alyssa Stevenson

Director, Violin & Theory Instructor

Alyssa Stevenson is an alumna of Western University’s Don Wright Faculty of Music and holds a Bachelor of Music Performance and a Master of Arts in Music Theory. She also completed a Master of Music in violin performance at the University of Ottawa.

Alyssa is an active performer across Ontario participating in groups such as London Symphonia, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the Niagara Symphony Orchestra and many more.

In addition to her performance schedule, Alyssa is a passionate teacher working with students of all ages to hone their skills in violin, viola, and theory and impart a love of music. In addition to the students at Maple & Spruce Music Academy, Alyssa also teaches violin at Arts 4 All Kids, an agency that provides free arts education to low-income families.

Alyssa has been playing the violin since 2000. Alyssa previously studied with Yehonatan Berick (2016-18), Ashley Vandiver (2017-18), Yosuke Kawasaki (2016-17), Mel Martin (2009-16) and studied Baroque violin with Joseph Lanza (2010-15). Aside from her studies with these musicians, Alyssa has worked with musicians from all over the world in masterclasses, chamber coachings, and private lessons. Most notably, she has played for Jonathan Crow, William van der Sloot, Tom Wiebe, Paul Marleyn, Michael van der Sloot, David Currie, Julia Wedman, Patricia Ahern, and Jeanne Lamon.
